Much of the UK sits on hard to very hard water chalk aquifers. When water is heated beyond 65°C inside high-pressure Schedule 80 coils, dissolved calcium and magnesium carbonates precipitate out into dense rock-hard limescale. This scale insulates the coil interior, causing severe hot spots, restricted flow, higher burner fuel consumption, and premature coil burnout. Scale Stop is a proprietary liquid conditioning additive that sequesters hard water minerals, keeping them in suspension through the burner loop.
