The Hydrocarbon Challenge

Drilling tubulars, mud pumps, shaker screens, wellhead valves, and offshore skids accumulate dense, high-melting-point hydrocarbon deposits. Standard cold-water washers cannot move paraffin wax or drilling polymers. Remote field sites require equipment that can run continuously for hours without breakdowns, because service technicians are hours or days away.

HYDROCARBONS & THERMAL PHYSICS

Paraffin wax and bitumen have high melting thresholds. Spraying cold or warm water merely smears the wax into a wider film. Alkota hot-water systems deliver sustained water temperatures above the wax melting point, while our wet steam generators produce 140°C saturated vapour.

At these temperatures, pipe dope and heavy crude lose all surface adhesion and flow away cleanly with zero mechanical scrubbing.
